It is thus incumbent upon all secondary schools to encourage those of their sixth-formers who are best suited to medicine to apply, and to give them the best chance of fulfilling their potential.

Remember that the personal statement is just that. There is a temptation to allow parents and teachers to rewrite it to a point where the only original thought of yours on the page is 'I want to be a doctor'. Resist this!
